Community Service/Special Projects

  • Founder X-Tattoo, Gang Tattoo Laser Removal Project with Scottsdale Police, Parks and Rotary 100

Dr. Ptak is proud to have started the X-Tattoo Program to help former gang members and others with gang-related "branding" remove their tattoos and get a new start. The often visible tattoos gangs brand their members with make it nearly impossible for former members to get a decent job, or even find respect in the broader community.

In exchange for community service by the patient, Dr. Ptak used modern technology to remove these tattoos with hardly a trace, and help give these young people a fresh start. To date, hundreds of former gang members who couldn't otherwise afford to have their tattoos removed have been given a new opportunity.

Although Dr. Ptak is no longer involved in the program, other board certified plastic surgeons have taken over. If you would like to participate in X-Tattoo, please call 602-262-7370.
